Announcing our 2025 Holiday Sing-Along T-shirt design contest 👕 We’ve seen the artwork that you’ve been inspired to create, and we’d love to celebrate it. If you have original @Sufjan-Christmas themed pieces or feel inspired to make something new, we want to see it!

The winning design will be featured on T-shirts for this year’s Sufmas Sing-Alongs, available to participants at cost (just manufacturing and shipping) and the designer will receive $500 plus two shirts in a size of their choosing.

Submit by Oct 24th, 5pm ET and the winning design will be announced in our October 29th AKR newsletter.

Today marks 5 years since @sufjan released his eig

Today marks 5 years since @sufjan released his eighth studio album ‘The Ascension’ through Asthmatic Kitty on September 25, 2020.

An album influenced by a diverse range of artists - including Janet Jackson’s album ‘Rhythm Nation’ and Ariana Grande and her track “Thank U, Next” - ‘The Ascension’ showcased Sufjan’s exploration into electronic and pop territories.

To mark this milestone, The Ascension LP is available for $20 at the AKR store today—$8 off the regular price.

We’ve also curated a special playlist featuring all tracks from ‘The Ascension’ alongside the songs that helped inspire the album. Experience the creative journey from the influence to the final work.

Sufjan’s compositions for ballet range from large orchestral arrangements to minimalist piano pieces and always create an evocative score for Peck’s expressive and athletic choreography.
