AKR is thrilled to announce that @meglui’s debut album, ‘Instant Validation,’ is releasing on September 25th, but you don’t have to wait until then to place your order. ‘Instant Validation’ is available to pre-order now!

Featuring “Gone Girl,” a cover of The Cranberries’ “Dreams (feat. @sufjan),” and new single “Elvis Queen,” there are a total of 12 tracks on the album, all produced by and featuring Sufjan Sufjans (with co-production by @keenanomeara).

“This song is about my aunt who was a huge Elvis fan,” Meg says. “At first it was a very slow, sentimental song, but we sped it up for the final version—she was a very joyful and fun person, so it made sense for it to feel a little bit like a party.”

Last month, @half.handedcloud performed a free show at Salpausselkä Playground in Helsinki, Finland, including tracks from his new album ‘Toothpaste Horse.’

John says: “The footage from this video is all made up of shots from people that I just met that day (I was too distracted to hand our camera to my wife and kids). Video credits and lots of thanks to @leperslepers , @ossyhello , toyetic.it , & @benandante_blog This tiny playground show basically only happened because some Italian semioticians were traveling up here in early June, wondering if I had a concert scheduled during the time that they’d be in town presenting a paper at the International Congress on Musical Signification in Helsinki. I hadn’t played a Finland show since @jvdmusic and Half-handed Cloud got to have a bookstore concert here in October 2017, and I hadn’t been planning to play anytime soon, but then thought that maybe I could try. It turned into a free Sunday afternoon park performance! Not pictured: my daughters (7 & 5), who sang along on a song with echo microphones!”
