Half-handed Cloud’s new LP, Toothpaste Horse, is out today on Asthmatic Kitty Records. The single opaque fruit-punch colored LP brings together the brand new Toothpaste Horse and 2018’s self-released I Don’t Have A Bib, across 53 songs and 40 minutes of lo-fi Portastudio children’s music. The LP also includes an over three-foot-tall growth chart foldout poster featuring John Ringhofer’s illustrations of the album’s varied instrumentation.
Song topics on both albums range from motivational tunes for extinguishing light switches, to newborn baby love songs; reminders that children are more likely to be tricky than cruel to asking why there’s a huge tower of discarded egg cartons in the corner—is it for a school project or something?
