I HEART LUNG TOUR INFORMATICIZED VIA TWITTER

March 4th, 2009 , by

All kinds of people are using Twitter for all kinds of reasons, and that’s just fine. What we like around here though is pure, raw data, be it in Twitter or old-fashioned paper form. That’s why we’re glued to Chris Schlarb’s Twitter page, where he is providing extensive financial data for the I Heart Lung tour currently underway. Read all of the gritty details here, and see remaining tourdates here.

And why you’re on the twittertube, check out the label’s account here, My Brightest Diamond’s right here, and DM Stith’s here.

I HEART LUNG IN MYRIAD FORM

October 13th, 2008 , by

I Heart Lung is playing twice this week. Tonight they’ll be with Mike Watt and Widow Babies at Pehrspace. It’s just $5, or $3 with the purchase of the many album releases being celebrated that night. Doors at 9pm.

Then on Thursday, IHL is playing in Long Beach with jazz legend Cooper-Moore, who is performing in California for the first time in 40 years. They’ll be playing at {open} bookstore, with a suggested donation of $5. Music is at 8pm.

And if you can’t catch them live, IHL’s full-length, Interoceans, is beautifully improvised and almost as good as seeing them live. You can pick it up and listen here for $10.

And/or, you can check out the IHL new video by visual artist, Cristopher Cichocki by clicking more or visiting Pitchfork.tv. If you’d like to do more than just see the video broadcast via internet to your computer screen, you can purchase it on mini-DVD form from video label Table of Contents. They’ve included the video alongside Seth Kasselman’s hypnotic Warm Climate. It’s $8, and details are here.

THE TIDE OF INTEROCEANS IS IN

September 23rd, 2008 , by

When we heard the initial recordings for Interoceans, we knew that we had to work with I Heart Lung. Today we are proud to release their album. Writing for PopMatters, John Bohannon said that this second release from I Heart Lung is "an album that is uncompromising in its vision and audacity—an achievement much greater than money-induced success."

You can buy Interoceans for $10 (+S&H) by clicking here, or read and listen here.

I HEART LUNG COUGHS UP FREE ALBUM

August 27th, 2008 , by

We’ve given away a few digital albums before, namely Works in Progress and Music for Videogames. But this week we are going free album crazy. A few days ago, we released Grampall Jookabox’s Rill Bruh EP (available on our own site here and through Virb.com here) and now we are giving you an eight song album of I Heart Lung remixes, which are available here. The remix album includes remixes by Greg Davis (Akron/Family), Jel, Omid, Strategy (Kranky label), and appearances by Awol One, Serengeti, Bizzart and other fine and talented hiphop MCs.

We are also taking preorders now for I Heart Lung’s phenomenal ambient jazz drone masterpiece, Interoceans which will ship on or around September 1.  Want to see them live? You’re in luck if you’re in the Santa Fe area in September 19th and attending the High Mayhem Festival.
