- Somewhere way in Detroit Michigan is a rabbit named Fontoof.
- Water dragons do, in fact, enjoy grapes.
- In 2001, we released an album from Sufjan Stevens based on the Chinese Zodiac called Enjoy Your Rabbit.
These disparate facts have aligned in the form of a new Sufjan-related release. At the spurring of Bryce Dessner (of The National fame), Sufjan obligingly handed over his eight year old album to composers Michael Atkinson, Olivier Manchon, Maxim Moston, Nico Muhly, Rob Moose, and Gabriel Kahane, who then re-arranged the album for strings. Osso, a quartet you might recognize from several Asthmatic Kitty releases (Illinois, My Brightest Diamond's Bring Me The Workhorse) comprise the album's players, and they are at their best here. Entitled Run Rabbit Run, the community-borne album also includes artwork from Jessica Dessner. We are releasing the album on October 6. And Pantouf is doing quite well thank you. You can read more about the album here. |
