Thanks to the intrepid efforts of a certain Indie Blockedappella (aka Nathan Smart and Zachariah Durr, aka the Cyber-travelling Bards of the Indie Internet), Asthmatic Kitty can scratch off another checkpoint on its way to inner planets domination: acappela versions of each of its artists. From the duuuahhhhhs to baarroooonnnggs, Indie Blockedappella has somehow captured the soul and essence of these songs and distilled them to their vocal fundamentals. We fully approve of the content of this message.

A bit of background: Indie Blockedappella began quote, "IN THE ROOM OF NATHAN SMART AND ENDED IN THE DEATHS OF 15 ANTS.  IT’S A REAL SHAME BUT FOR A GOOD COVER SONG, YOU REALLY CAN’T BEAT THAT PRICE." How true you are, Indie Blockedappella.  How true you are.

Listen to the songs on AKRadio by clicking just beneath our banner above this news items, or download the songs and read Indie Blockedappella's complete biograph by clicking on more.

It's been a couple of years since Nathan Smart started Indie Blockedappella and in that time he's founded a satirical video game news website ( http://www.thegamerag.com), taken video game retailers to task (http://www.preorderpushers.com) and opened a hardware store (http://www.acehardware.com).

"I love tools," says Smart.

He opened the hardware store on a dare.

"I was dared by some friends to do four things in, what was then, the next three years: record a capella versions of indie rock songs, write fake video game news, take video game retailers to task and open a hardware store.  I think I've done well."

"Smart plans to keep the Ace Hardware brand going even though he's already won the dare."

"I might as well.  Right now, I've got over 4,600 stores in about 70 countries, and that's in the last couple of years!  I'd be crazy to stop now."

You can read more at http://www.nathansmart.com/blog - when performing live, Zachariah Durr helps Nathan come up with cool dance moves to accompany the songs.  You should follow him at http://www.youtube.com/zartdart .
